Tomorrow (Saturday) starting at just before midnight, I am walking a half marathon with 15000 other women (and a few men!) in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
It's a special walk because a) it's predominantly a women-only event b) it takes place in the middle of the night. (It takes place in the middle of the night because...) c) you wear a crazy decorated bra. In full view. No tops. Eek!
The marathon (full moon) and half marathon (half moon) take in major sites around London - I will be walking right past the Tower of London, Big Ben, down The Mall and so much more (not in that order, for anyone who's geography of London is great!)
My bra is ready to go with feathers, sequins, ribbons and so on. I hoping to find the time tonight to sew a little shimmery sequin material to the bottom to hide my Mummy Tummy.
I know some of you (AK, among others!) are keen runners so I will think of you as I WALK round London :-)
But mainly I will be thinking of every woman, man and family fighting this disease.
I will be celebrating Judith's recovery from the disease, a friends Mum Sue who has just been diagnosed and another friends future MIL (getting married in 3 weeks time), Rosemary, who has her mastectomy today and then they will plan what treatment comes next. She had symptoms for 3-4 years before going to the doctors because she didn't want to trouble any one.
Please don't let that be the reason for not going for treatment.
If you want to share your stories with me, I'd be delighted to think of your friends and loved ones as I walk.

Thank you.
